About

Local makers and maker groups are invited to host gatherings, sewing bees and knit a-longs to make Welcome Blankets for newcomers to the country. The blankets will be at Shirlington Library and then sent to the Welcome Blanket headquarters in Los Angeles to be distributed across the country. Sew, knit, crotchet or quilt a blanket (or 2). Make it something you would like to receive, and about 40” X 40”. Write a Welcome Note! Drop off the blanket(s) at the Shirlington Branch Library anytime from September 2026 through January 2027.
